Overview
An HOA is a "Homeowners' Association". It is comprised of and run by the homeowners in the community. It is guided by a Board of Directors, elected by the homeowners and each of who must be a current homeowner in the community.
- HOA members are elected from among the residents and serve to maintain grounds, insurance, community utilities, and the overall finances of the community.
- HOA requires all unit owners to pay a yearly maintenance charge and may also demand special one-time assessments to cover large community expenses.
- HOA protects services and provides a sense of community through events/activities and enforcement of shared values.
